Survey Confirms Social Media Marketing Business Benefits

The 2011 Social Media Marketing Industry Report found 90% of marketers believe social media is important to business. The biggest benefit was brand exposure, which was cited by 88% of the marketers surveyed by Social Media Examiner. Increasing traffic to sites was the second most cited benefit with 72% saying they gained traffic and subscribers due to social media outreach. Improved search rankings were another plus of social media marketing for about two-thirds of the respondents to the survey, which asked more than 3,000 marketers how social media has enhanced their Internet marketing efforts. The survey found more experienced marketers tend to outsource some or all of the social media campaigns
