-Loyal customers are essential. While finding new customers is important for any business, don’t forget about the customers that have been there since the very beginning. Studies have shown that the loyal customer will be more inclined to interact with you on social networks like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

-Engage in social participation. Small businesses, pay attention, because you have an advantage here! Simply registering for a Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn is not enough. Once your company is a part of these social media sites, start networking! Engage is conversation with customers and ask them for feedback! Social media is a great way to introduce new products and promotions and give your followers or friends an exclusive deal. This will entice other’s to join your network.

-Pay attention to consumer options. The internet brought a new forum for people to share ideas and options. Social media narrowed that forum further. It’s simple for un-satisfied customers to express themselves on social media sites and people will notice! Make sure that you pay close attention to consumer opinions and reviews and don’t take a single one for granted!

-Keep trying! Not all social media strategies work, but hopefully your business was able to collect enough knowledge to take you into the New Year with new ideas.
