The recent update to Google’s algorithm to improve ranking quality has affected an estimated 11.8% of site rankings. While the long-term impact remains to be seen, so far observers say the Panda update appears to be working as intended. Low grade material supplied by “content farms” strictly for SEO purposes has been devalued while high quality, topically relevant content has gained prominence. In fact many sites with rich content have been whitelisted and will get a favorable ranking in future search results. Stay tuned for further details.
